Twentytwo13’s Sila Lari, Jangan Duduk Fun Run 2018 will have a full house of 800 runners.
The deadline for entries was supposed to be tomorrow, but due to overwhelming response, the 800 mark was reached last Tuesday.
The 5km fun run is on Nov 4 at Padang Merbok, Kuala Lumpur. It is supported by the Federal Territory Kuala Lumpur Athletics Association (FTKLAA).
The name of the run is a play of words on what Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Muhammad V, who had just before officiating the Dewan Rakyat session after the change in government, said: “Sila duduk, jangan lari”, referring to the opposition MPs who staged a walkout a day earlier.
Representatives from Istana Negara have also signed up for the fun run.
Twentytwo13 Editor Haresh Deol said: “We are delighted to have hit our target a week in advance and are sorry many others who have expressed their desire to compete in the run, are unable to do so.
“I would like to give a shoutout to our fellow journalists, who in the spirit of brotherhood, have joined forces to make this event a success.
“We have the key members from online portal The Mole running, Asiana.my will be providing pictures and videos of the run while BFM and Bernama had helped promote the event.”
