RTM will air the Manny Pacquiao-Lucas Matthysse fight after all.

Insiders earlier told Twentytwo13 the allocation to air the July 15 bout was “not approved” by the Finance Ministry.

However, Twentytwo13 was informed the national broadcasters will now air the bout.

It remains unclear how much the government will pay to broadcast the fight.

Our earlier report as follows:

RTM will not air the Manny Pacquiao-Lucas Matthysse fight after all.

Insiders told Twentywo13 the allocation to air the July 15 bout was “not approved” by the Finance Ministry.

“Perhaps it’s due to the short notice … if this was planned earlier, perhaps RTM would have had an opportunity to air the bout,” said a source.

“As it stands today, it’s a no show.”

It was earlier reported that the organiser MP Promotion was in talks with RTM to air the fight.

Astro, however, will air the fight live.

The cheapest ticket is RM488 while the most expensive is RM19,888.

Philippines President Rodrigo Duterte will be among the VIPs at the fight venue Axiata Arena in Bukit Jalil.

Philippines Ambassador to Malaysia Charles Jose told ABS-CBN that Duterte plans to meet with Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad after the fight.

Duterte’s itinerary to Kuala Lumpur remains unclear.
