Charity group spreads Christmas joy to residents of St Francis Xavier Home for the Elderly

Charity group We Love, We Care, We Share (WLWCWS) continued its tradition of bringing love, joy, live entertainment, and laughter to St Francis Xavier Home For The Elderly, a care home in the heart of Malaysia’s capital city of Kuala Lumpur.

On Dec 17, volunteers from WLWCWS organised a Christmas lunch for the residents and the nuns who run the home.

To make the day even more memorable, local musicians performed classic songs that resonated with the residents, sparking nostalgia and a sense of togetherness.

The lively music had everyone tapping their feet, singing along, and enjoying the merriment. Some even danced to the tunes.

“We usually hold a Christmas dinner, but this year, the home requested a lunch instead,” said WLWCWS leader Ivan Zuzartee.

“We had several musical acts, with all the artists donating their time.

“I would like to thank all the volunteers, donors, musicians, and well-wishers who contributed cash, talent, effort, and time to make our Christmas party another success. Without their support, we couldn’t have done it.”

Zuzartee revealed that he received a heartfelt thank you message from the head nun.

“In all my many years of charity work with WLWCWS and on my own, this was the most touching thank you message I have ever received,” said Zuzartee.

“She said among the feedback from the residents was how happy and loved they felt, while others said they felt like the most important people on earth.”

Before lunch, Zuzartee and his team brought gifts and essential items from a wishlist presented by the home a month earlier.

The positive response from the residents was a timely reminder that small acts of kindness can go a long way in brightening up someone’s day.
