Chance for Manchester City to pull away in points hunt against wounded Foxes

Manchester City has a chance to go six points clear at the top of the English Premier League when it hosts a wounded Leicester on Sunday (11pm Malaysian time).

City has 44 points from 18 matches, three more than Liverpool, whose game against Leeds is off due to several Covid-19 cases in the Leeds camp.

City has won its last five matches and look like a good bet to beat a Leicester side that has only collected seven points from a possible 15.

The Foxes also lost in the League Cup quarterfinal to Liverpool on Thursday morning (Malaysian time) despite holding a 3-1 advantage at the break.

Liverpool came back to force a 3-3 draw and won 5-4 on penalties.

Third-placed Chelsea can draw level with Liverpool if it finds a way against in-form Aston Villa on Monday (1.30am).

Villa has been a changed side since Steven Gerrard took over last month, and its only defeats were against Manchester City and Liverpool.

It has climbed to 10th in the standings as Gerrard has won more matches (four) in seven games than Dean Smith, who won three in 11.

Chelsea, meanwhile, has stuttered in recent weeks, only picking up eight points from 15.

As is the norm in England, there are also midweek matches, and hopefully, all of them will go ahead as scheduled.
