With friends, anything is possible. And Sila Lari, Jangan Duduk Fun Run 2018 is blessed to have many supporters.
One such company is Genesis Healthcare Group which aspires to change the face of primary healthcare by redefining the patient experience and the quality of care provided in its clinics.
Dr Phang Sue Ling and her team will be on standby during tomorrow’s run at Padang Merbok to assist and advise runners.
“Genesis Healthcare started about three years ago and we began expanding about a year ago. We originally were an on-set medical service in Johor before opening our first commercial clinic in Subang Jaya.
“Our vision is to have a clinic which is into preventive medicine and we also wanted to have something else like providing physical therapy and nutritional service, so we are having that under one roof now,” said Dr Phang, who used to be an avid hiker.
She found out about Sila Lari Jangan Duduk and decided to get on board.
“We had some conversations and decided to come in to support the event.”
Besides having at least a physiotherapist on standby at Padang Merbok, Genesis will send an ambulance and provide discount vouchers for all runners.
Eight hundred participants will take part in Sila Lari, Jangan Duduk Fun Run 2018, including those from Istana Negara‘s welfare and sports club.
Organised by news website Twentytwo13, the 5km run is supported by the Federal Territory Kuala Lumpur Athletics Association (FTKLAA).
The name of the run is a play of words on what Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Muhammad V, who had just before officiating the Dewan Rakyat session after the change in government, said: “Sila duduk, jangan lari”, referring to the opposition MPs who staged a walkout a day earlier.
