Light at end of Emirates tunnel?

Emirates Stadium

It is Deepavali tomorrow and Arsenal manager Unai Emery will surely hope for a bright light at the end of Emirates tunnel after losing to Sheffield United in the English Premier League last time out.

It was only its second defeat of the season, but many fans have been calling for his head. How bad has it been?

Well, the London club was recently trolled by Kentucky Fried Chicken for not “delivering” results on the pitch.

The Gunners face Crystal Palace (12.30am Monday in Malaysia) buoyed by its 3-0 hammering of Vitoria SC in the Europa Cup but can’t afford to take Palace lightly in this London derby.

Despite losing 2-0 to Manchester City last weekend, Palace is just a point behind Arsenal with 14 points from nine matches.
Given how the fans reacted last week, Emery will need an “illuminating” performance at the Emirates.

Fight for Change 2019

The match of the week is undoubtedly Liverpool vs Tottenham in a rematch of the Champions League final which the Reds won 2-0. As usual, when top teams meet, form goes out the window and you can bet Spurs, which has three wins, will be out to stop the league leader’s unbeaten streak.

Manchester United take on Norwich hoping to kick on after it ended Liverpool’s winning streak with a 1-1 draw at home. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer won a reprieve from criticism by denying Liverpool a record-equalling 18th straight victory and has some easy-looking fixtures coming up which should help the club move up the standings.

Defending champions Manchester City kicks off today’s action hoping to regain second place in the table when it hosts Aston Villa at 7.30pm. Leicester overtook City when it thrashed Southampton 9-0 early this morning.

Happy Deepavali folks!
