SIGA calls on global sports industry to unite at Sport Integrity Week 2023

Stakeholders from the sports industry in Malaysia and Southeast Asia are encouraged to organise thought leadership events or roundtable discussions during Sport Integrity Week 2023 (#SIW2023), scheduled from Sept 4-8.

#SIW2023 will take place in multiple locations, with the organiser, Geneva-based Sport Integrity Global Alliance (SIGA), encouraging parties in other parts of the world, to also host activities in line with SIGA’s principles.

SIGA is a non-profit, independent global organisation aimed at ensuring that the sports industry is governed by the highest standards of integrity, so that the values of sports are protected. Its core principles include upholding integrity, accountability, safeguarding sports values, and youth development and child protection.

#SIW2023 is an opportunity for those seeking to meet the critical, current, and future challenges facing sports. The fourth edition will once again gather industry leaders, decision-makers, and renowned experts to address pressing issues in the sports industry, and pave the way for future growth.

Among those involved in last year’s edition were United Nations assistant secretary-general for policy coordination and inter-agency affairs, World Rugby chief executive officer Alan Gilpin, MotoGP rider Miguel Oliveira, La Liga president Javier Tebas and Twentytwo13 editor Haresh Deol.

SIGA’s global chief executive officer, Emanuel Macedo de Medeiros said the upcoming #SIW2023 was a good opportunity for members of the global sporting industry to get involved, lead from the front, and engage and press for meaningful reforms.

“This is the time to act, and tackle issues concerning sport integrity. We invite you to participate, either by hosting thought leadership events, sponsoring the sessions, or by showcasing your initiatives to be our Integrity Champions,” said de Medeiros.

“Each one of us has a crucial and incontrovertible role to play. #SIW2023 is our chance to show we mean business and are really committed to collectively lead the way for sport integrity.”

Those interested in partnering SIGA in Sport Integrity Week 2023 have until May 26 to submit their proposals.

Twentytwo13 is SIGA’s sole media partner from Southeast Asia.
