SEREMBAN: IJM Land has become Malaysia’s first property developer to support Projek Together Boleh 3.0, a national prevention framework by ExecuteAWA addressing animal welfare and stray population challenges.
ExecuteAWA is Malaysia’s first national public advocacy and humanity movement dedicated to improving animal welfare governance and enforcing the laws protecting animals.
The initiative brings together local authorities, non-governmental organisations (NGOs), veterinary professionals, communities and the corporate sector to develop structured, evidence-informed solutions.
Projek Together Boleh 3.0 was part of IJM Land’s ‘Paws To Home’ community pet adoption and family-friendly event, which featured pet adoption opportunities, pet-care services, activities, entertainment and donation drives supporting local animal welfare initiatives.
The programme resulted in 31 sterilisation procedures, six successful adoptions and 12 pet licence applications, alongside vaccination and microchipping efforts by pet owners.
IJM Land also presented a RM1,000 mock cheque to NS Happy Paws and FurryKids SafeHave.
Supported by the Seremban District Information Department and jointly driven by Negeri Sembilan animal welfare NGOs NS Happy Paws and FurryKids SafeHaven, the collaboration recognises that Malaysia’s stray animal and pet ownership challenges require sustained, strategic action.
The framework focuses on curbing unwanted breeding, reducing abandonment, protecting public health and safety, and promoting responsible pet ownership.
Projek Together Boleh 3.0 is built around three pillars – ‘prevent’ (sterilise), ‘protect’ (vaccinate), and ‘prove’ (microchip and manage).
It also promotes collaboration among government agencies, corporate organisations, NGOs and communities, including responsible engagement with animal feeders, hygienic feeding practices and dialogue with residents concerned about stray dogs.
IJM Land said its responsibility extended beyond developing communities to helping residents respond constructively to challenges within them.
The collaboration marks IJM Land’s first involvement in the initiative, promoting ExecuteTNVRM, Adopt, Don’t Shop and Responsible Pet Ownership at national level.
It also reinforces the message that pet ownership is a lifelong responsibility.
“The objective is not to expect everyone to love animals. It is to help communities learn how to coexist safely, responsibly and respectfully with our animals through active community engagement opportunities,” said NS Happy Paws chairman Jude Ignatius Lazaroo.
“We also aim to continue our communications with local authorities to foster greater understanding of animal welfare challenges that can be met with data-driven solutions that have proven effectiveness.”
He said the organisation welcomed IJM Land as a corporate partner in the programme’s third series and a catalyst for advancing animal welfare.
Projek Together Boleh expanded in Negeri Sembilan following its inaugural launch with the Rembau District Council (MDR) in November 2025, and its first corporate partnership with Millennia Village in June 2026.
The initiative supports coordinated, science-informed stray population management through ExecuteTNVRM (Trap-Neuter-Vaccinate-Rehome | Reclaim | Release-Microchip | Manage).
FurryKids SafeHaven president Kiran Bhatt said Projek Together Boleh 3.0 complemented ongoing efforts by the Majlis Bandaraya Seremban (MBS) to strengthen stray dog management through licensing, sterilisation incentives, rescue operations, microchipping and collaboration with NGOs and government agencies.
Volunteers from Soka International School Malaysia and MILA University also attended the event, reflecting both institutions’ commitment to involving younger generations in animal welfare efforts.
For ExecuteAWA, the focus is on preventing the next generation of strays rather than simply managing existing populations.
Projek Together Boleh 3.0 also seeks to integrate animal welfare into community planning and management.
ExecuteAWA founder Sue Ann Kong said the organisation welcomed partners such as IJM Land that shared its commitment to integrity, accountability and meaningful action for communities and animals.
“Projek Together Boleh is not a closed programme nor a one-off campaign. It is part of a national movement built on one simple principle: to approach a growing national problem professionally – not through assumptions or in isolation, but positively together through facts and evidence as a civilised, compassionate and progressive Malaysia,” she said.
