Agong pays Sultan Selangor visit during London trip

The Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah visited Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah at a hospital in London, where the Selangor Sultan was recuperating after a surgery.

Sultan Sharafuddin, who left for London on July 28, recently underwent a holmium laser enucleation of the prostate. It is a minimally invasive procedure that uses pulses of laser beam to remove tissue from the inside of the prostate, which surrounds the urethra. He is expected to return tomorrow.

Al-Sultan Abdullah and Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah are in London to attend the commissioning of their son, Tengku Ahmad Ismail Mu’adzam Shah, at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst (RMAS), on Aug 11.

Also present at the commissioning were the Regent of Pahang Tengku Hassanal Ibrahim Alam Shah Al-Sultan Abdullah, the Malaysian High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Datuk Zakri Jaafar, the Comptroller of the Royal Household of Istana Negara, Major-General Datuk Zahari Mohd Ariffin, and the Malaysian Defence Advisor in the UK, Brigadier General Datuk Safwan Ismail.

Al-Sultan Abdullah also attended a luncheon with the alumni of 1 Platoon, Alamein Company, Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, on Aug 12.

The King had attended training at the academy from 1978 to 1979.

Al-Sultan Abdullah and Tunku Azizah’s trip to London ends tomorrow.
