The American Tech Corner (ATC) on Wheels heads to Pahang with exhibitions scheduled in Raub and Kuala Lipis between May 11 and 14.
The exhibition is to get students excited about the world of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). Visitors will be able to get a closer look at 3D printing, laser engraving, robotics, microscopic science, virtual reality, and neuroscience.
The exhibition will first be held at Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) Pahang Campus in Raub on May 11, followed by MRSM Tun Ghazali Shafie in Kuala Lipis, the following day. On May 14, the exhibition will be held at SK Satak in Raub. It will be held from 9am to 3pm on all three dates.
The initiative is organised by Badan Amal Kasih Sayang, Penang Science Cluster, UiTM Pahang Campus, MRSM Tun Ghazali Shafie, and SK Satak. It is supported by the Pahang Education Department and the Raub Education Office.
The organisers, in a statement, said the exhibitions are free, and open to all.
“This is to allow students and the general public to experience and understand the world of STEM in a detailed, and practical manner,” read the statement.
“This exhibition will also benefit local communities, including the Orang Asli community (in Raub and Kuala Lipis), in cultivating their interest and understanding in STEM-related fields.”
The ATC on Wheels is not new. In 2022, then US Ambassador to Malaysia, Brian McFeeters visited Pulau Pinang to launch the exhibition there. A similar exhibition was also held last year, including at SMK Convent Teluk Intan in Perak in October.
