British Standards Institution (BSI) has been revealed as the first Platinum Partner to join Sport Integrity Week 2022.
Sport Integrity Global Alliance (SIGA) said the two-year deal will see BSI support SIGA in its upcoming flagship hybrid thought leadership event, scheduled for Sept 12-16 in Cascais, Portugal.
BSI managing director United Kingdom and Ireland, Matt Page (main image) said: “BSI is proud to partner with SIGA for the upcoming Sport Integrity Week 2022 and be aligned with an event that champions integrity and values in sport.”
“As part of this collaboration, BSI will be providing an impartial and robust third-party audit process in accordance with SIGA’s Universal Standards on Sport Integrity to build trust, confidence, and credibility in the sports industry. We look forward to the event in September and the outcomes that will enhance sports governance.”
BSI is the leading certification body in both the UK and the United States. It was appointed by SIGA in 2019 as an independent third party to carry out its innovative and impartial sports governance audit, rating, and certification tool.
Known as the SIGA Independent Rating and Verification System (SIRVS), sports organisations will be subjected to a rigorous evaluation process and then be certified with Bronze, Silver, or Gold, in accordance with SIGA’s Universal Standards on Sport Integrity.
During Sport Integrity Week 2022, BSI will participate in panel discussions on the importance of SIRVS, as well as sessions on climate change, how to integrate sustainability into the sports industry, and why brands and governments should use SIRVS as a benchmark for their financial investments in the industry.
SIGA’s global chief operating officer, Katie Simmonds said: “We are delighted to announce BSI, the world’s leading certification authority, as the first Platinum Partner of the Sport Integrity Week.”
“SIGA has a long-standing relationship with BSI. It is a relationship built on mutual trust, institutional recognition, and a shared belief that Integrity must be at the core of the sporting industry.
“As we continue our journey to usher sports into this new culture, this partnership will take our cooperation to new heights and encourage all global brands to effectively place Sport Integrity at the top of their agenda,” she added.
