PKR TO DECIDE ON PM CANDIDATE TOMORROW
In the never-ending saga of “Who Wants To Be PM?”, PKR’s leadership will meet tomorrow to make its stand on its prime minister candidate.
Party secretary-general Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail revealed in a statement that Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad had on June 13 requested to be prime minister for at least 12 months to “undo the wrongdoings of Datuk Seri Najib Razak and Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin”.
This was apparently shot down by Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal who said six months was sufficient for Dr Mahathir. Saifuddin also revealed that Dr Mahathir, had in a June 9 meeting, said Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim will not be accepted as PM as he leads a multiracial party.
SYED SADDIQ LATEST TO BE PROBED
Former Youth and Sports Minister Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman tweeted he was hauled up by police pertaining to an interview with Al Jazeera’s Mehdi Hasan on March 6. The Muar MP was apparently critical of Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and the government of the day during the UpFront programme.
Others who were recently called up by police over their comments on various issues include Segambut MP Hannah Yeoh and lawyer Siti Kassim.
NOH OMAR QUITS MISC AFTER 17 DAYS
Seventeen days – that’s how long Tan Sri Noh Omar lasted as MISC Bhd chairman. The shipping group said Noh’s resignation, effective yesterday, came after the Tanjung Karang MP had a discussion with Muhyiddin.
CITY HALL USES AI TO DETECT COVID-19
Visitors to the payment counters at City Hall’s Menara DBKL 1 in Jalan Raja Laut will be greeted by a screen that will check their temperature and remind them to wear a face mask. City Hall said its Early Warning Alert & Response (EWAR) system adheres to the standard operating procedure set by the National Security Council.
KLHA SEEKS FT MINISTER’S HELP
Kuala Lumpur Hockey Association (KLHA) has yet to reach an agreement with City Hall over the management of the KL Hockey Stadium. Its president Datuk Seri Megat Shahriman Zaharudin said the association plans to reach out to Federal Territories Minister Tan Sri Annuar Musa as KLHA hopes to achieve a win-win situation.

LUIZ SAYS SORRY AS PREMIER LEAGUE RESUMES
The Premier League resumed today much to the delight of everyone except David Luiz.
The Arsenal defender came in as substitute in the 24th minute, contributed to Manchester City’s first goal and picked up a red card in the 49th minute which led to a penalty and City’s second goal. The Gunners lost 3-0 and Luiz took full responsibility.
In the other match, Aston Villa and Sheffield United settled for a goalless draw.
TOUGH FOR MALAYSIA IN AFC UNDER-19 CHAMPIONSHIP
Malaysia joins Qatar, Tajikistan and Yemen in Group D of the AFC Under-19 Championship. The draw was done at AFC House in Bukit Jalil this evening. It will not be a walk in the park for Brad Maloney’s lads as Qatar and Tajikistan are formidable teams.
