Father, son to ink deal in bid to strengthen football coaching skills, education

The apple doesn’t fall very far from the tree.

S. Visnu Nair (main image, left) grew up with football, as his father, B. Satiananthan, played the sport, and later became a coach, guiding several Malaysian teams, including the nation’s Under-23 squad.

Tomorrow, both father and son are set to join forces in a bid to elevate the quality of football coaches in the country.

Visnu, who is the managing director of MYCoachingHub, and Satiananthan, the Football Coaches Association of Malaysia (PJBM) president, are scheduled to sign a memorandum of understanding at Wisma FAM in Kelana Jaya, Selangor.

The MoU is to strike a strategic partnership between both parties to promote the development of coaching skills and knowledge in Malaysia, which will ultimately benefit the sport as a whole.

MYCoachingHub is a new online sports platform for coaches that provides a wealth of resources and solutions for coaching education.

“We are delighted to offer our support via this online educational platform to PJBM in uplifting their tactical insights and in-depth knowledge,” said Visnu.

“Through our platform, coaches can learn at their own pace and at a time that works for them. This can be valuable for coaches who have busy schedules, or who live in remote areas, where access to training and education is limited.

“We also believe that our local football coaches can gain access to the expertise of some of the best coaches in the industry. This includes insights and strategies from coaches who have a wealth of experience and success in their field,” he added.

Satianathan stressed on the importance of MYCoachingHub and its primary benefits, namely data-driven insights and analysis for local football coaches, and teams, in looking to gain an edge.

“As coaches, we need to be constantly evolving and adapting to new technologies and insights to stay ahead of the game,” said Satianathan, who is also a pundit on Astro Arena.

“With the help of the MYCoachingHub application, we can easily analyse and evaluate our data insights like never before.

“We at PJBM are thankful to MYCoachingHub for this amazing partnership and we believe that this platform is an invaluable resource for coaches looking for a competitive edge to elevate the standard of Malaysian football,” he added.

Among those expected to attend tomorrow’s event are the FA of Malaysia vice-president, Datuk S. Sivasundram, FAM general secretary, Noor Azman Rahman, FAM technical director, Scott O’ Donnell, and Malaysian Football League chief executive officer and Road to Gold project coordinator, Stuart Ramalingam.
