Finally, the yummy taste of Ramly burger

Dear Diary,

It is a glorious day. The birds were singing and the sun was shining brightly. I was in an extremely good mood all because of a Ramly burger.

Oh yes, the messy, gooey, silky texture of egg and cheese with two Ramly burger patties wrapped inside and drowned in several different sauces with just the right blend of seasoning.

I got it from Samsuri Salim, who runs Aroma Burger at USJ14. I’ve been going to his stall for close to 20 years. Due to the Movement Control Order (MCO), he just decided to start working from home as he has not earned anything since March 18.

Before I forget, Happy Vaisakhi to all my Sikh friends.

Here’s how Day 27 of the MCO unfolded.

8.30am: MALAYSIA’S GOT TALENT – From the Blues to parodies, a rap song and even a P. Ramlee remix! Check out Malaysian songs about Covid-19.

10.29am: FASHION STATEMENT – An innovative idea from Brazilian fashion photographer Marcio Rodrigues.

11.52am: SUPPORT A LOCAL BUSINESSMaybank has put together a list of merchants which are not on any food delivery platform. The bank covers the delivery fee up to 10km. A handy guide and perfect timing after reading about escalating food delivery charges.

12.45pm: EURASIAN TREAT – Since I’m still in the Easter mood, here’s a recipe for pang susi (don’t know why, but it translates to bread sister). It’s not my mum’s recipe, as that’s a secret!

1.59pm: ANOTHER TIME WASTER – While running some errands, bumped into this little fella. Time to brush up on the rules.

2pm: U-TURN – Finally a U-turn which makes sense. Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaacob says barber shops, hair salons and optical shops won’t be allowed to operate during Phase 3 of MCO which begins on Wednesday.

3.23pm: BURGER FIX – After more than a month, I finally got my Ramly Burger fix. Those in Subang Jaya can order by calling 019-3717868 (12pm-8pm). Self-collection: No.11A, Jalan SS19/6B, Subang Jaya. Delivery charges apply for those who don’t want to leave their homes.

4.44pm: SOMETHING TO HIDE? – China has imposed restrictions on the publication of academic research on the origins of the novel coronavirus, according to a central government directive and online notices published by two Chinese universities that have since been removed from the web.

5.23pm: ROYAL PRAISE

5.31pm: CURES OUTWEIGH NEW CASES – Today 168 patients were discharged, bringing the total cured to 2,276 or 47 per cent of all cases. This is more than the 134 new cases (134) which bring the total to 4,817. There was one death, taking fatalities to 77.

6pm: VAISAKHI JOY – Vaisakhi signifies the birth of he Khalsa. I leave you with this song that narrates the identify of a Sikh.
