Jom Jalan with NPC 2025, a race walking and fun walk event, will flag off on Nov 29, 2025, aiming to revitalise walking activities in Malaysia. This second edition features two categories: a 10km competitive race walk with several subcategories, and a 5km fun walk.
The 10km race includes Men’s Open, Women’s Open, and Boys’ and Girls’ (aged 13-17) categories. With the decline of race walking events and champions in recent years, it is hoped that Jom Jalan with NPC will help identify and nurture future stars. FTAA will also use the event to scout potential walkers for next year’s Malaysia Games in Selangor.
NPC president Datuk Ahirudin Attan said the walk’s objectives were to promote a healthy lifestyle among Malaysians and to unearth new talents.
“More importantly, this is an event where we want to see media practitioners and stakeholders come together for a good cause. While championing a healthy lifestyle, we also want to champion the media industry and those in it,” said Ahirudin.
“We hope to see Jom Jalan grow to be an iconic event.”
The inaugural edition, held at the same venue last year, attracted over 300 participants from diverse backgrounds. NPC is targeting even more participants this year. Winners of the competitive categories will receive cash prizes and medals.
