Great way to bond at Sila Lari, Jangan Duduk

Crescentia, Teresa and Ong

Crescentia Lim had one thing in mind when she signed up for Sila Lari, Jangan Duduk Fun Run 2018 – a healthy bonding session with her nine-year-old daughter Teresa Nadine Thoo Kai Xin.

In fact, Crescentia’s partner Ong Boon Khoon also agreed to be part of the Nov 4 event as a great way to be together.

“I decided to register my daughter and partner for the race to have some bonding time. It’s a healthy way of doing it … participating in a 5km fun run,” said the senior customer service specialist.

Teresa had always asked her mother about the runs she often competed in.

“I’ve been actively participating in runs and since Teresa has shown interest, and that now she’s a little older, I thought this fun run would be a good start for her.”

Crescentia admitted Teresa was hesitant in the beginning, wondering if she could complete the 5km route at Padang Merbok, Kuala Lumpur.

“I told her the most important thing is finishing the race. It’s not about timing or giving up.”

“And since this is a fun run, she can receive a medal just by finishing the race, so she is now looking forward to it.”

Crescentia added her partner was equally excited as it has been awhile since he took part in running events.

“The three of us have been training together for the run by walking at the park and swimming to improve our stamina.

“I also run on the treadmill at the gym after work.”
