Keep aiming and pushing, always strive to be a better version of yourself

It sounds like a cliché, but it is never too late to learn a new skill.

As an educator, that is an important message we should follow. We need to constantly improve and evolve if we are to help those we teach.

Recently, I achieved a life-long dream of earning my PhD from the International University of Entreprenology.

Earning my postgraduate academic degree was one of my proudest moments. It did not come easy, especially with the Covid-19 situation.

I had to find the time to juggle life as a student, co-founder of an international school, entrepreneur, educator, wife, and mother.

But the support I received from my family, everyone in school, and my business partners, helped motivate me.

I knew I needed to improve and evolve in this ever-changing world. Learning something new would make me a better educator.

Look at our lives now. Who would have thought that online learning would be the norm? Covid-19 changed the way educators taught.

Educators have to be flexible, and we need to accumulate as much knowledge as possible. That is the best way to help our students.

All my life, I wanted to be a teacher. To nurture young minds and ensure they get a head start on life.

I was always striving to improve myself. It was not enough that I had all the necessary certificates and qualifications a teacher should possess.

I kept aiming and pushing for more. That was one reason why I became a Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) trainer.

I received my certification from the American Board of NLP and can train, and certify my teachers for the NLP for the Academics Certification.

The NLP for the Academics is a programme specially designed for me, as I saw the benefit of incorporating NLP into academics.

As my career in education progressed, I started a training company and conducted training sessions for international schools.

Even then, I was always thinking, what’s next? What else could I do to improve myself – and by extension, help those around me improve?

That was when I decided to take the plunge, and get my PhD. I knew it was not going to be easy. But I wanted to show that it is never too late, and that nothing is impossible, if we put our heart and soul into it.

I did it. I hope you can do it too. Just take the first step and give it all you’ve got.

Always strive to be a better version of yourself.
