Dear Diary,
I had the best sleep in a long time. Perhaps it was because I finally satisfied my craving for a Ramly burger. Or perhaps all the sleepless nights caught up. I still woke up a couple of times but I managed to go back to dreamland fairly quickly.
Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and leaders from other Asean countries held an Asean Summit on Covid-19 via video teleconferencing. He says Malaysia supports the creation of a Covid-19 Asean Response Fund.
Today also marks the end of the second phase of the Movement Control Order (MCO) and we enter the third phase tomorrow where the number of cases is set to hit 5,000.
I would like to wish those celebrating, a Happy Tamil New Year and Happy Vishu.
Here’s how Day 28 of MCO unfolded.
6am: SHOOTING UP – The worldwide death rate from Covid-19 is 118,623 victims. We will surpass two million cases tomorrow. It was one million just 12 days ago.
6.43am: RISKY BUSINESS – Thousands of shops across Austria reopened today although the government says it is “not out of the woods” yet.
7.20am: HEY MICKEY, YOU’RE NOT FINE – Disney enters US$5 billion (RM21.7 billion) credit agreement to bolster its liquidity to weather the fallout from the Covid-19 crisis.
8.15am: BREAD SISTER – Yesterday I shared a recipe for pang susi (bread sister in the Kristang language). Guess what I had for breakfast?

11.25am: EMCO BLUES – Amy Wong has spent the last two weeks confined to her father’s unit in Menara City One, Kuala Lumpur after two blocks of condominiums were placed under the Enhanced Movement Control Order. With the EMCO now extended to April 28, Amy tells Twentytwo13 she envies those living under the MCO.

2pm: TOUGHER STANCE – Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaacob says starting tomorrow those who violate MCO will be remanded instead of being fined RM1,000. He also said Masjid India in Kuala Lumpur will be the fifth area placed under EMCO. Areas affected involve Jalan Munshi Abdullah, Jalan Dang Wangi, Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman, Jalan Tun Perak, Jalan Melaka and Jalan Ampang (surrounding Masjid India).
The setting up of e-bazaars will also be discussed by the Cabinet tomorrow.
3.31pm: WHAT MCO? – There was a traffic jam in Puchong today.

4.14pm: GOOD ONE, KTM – Recieved this a few times today.
5.03pm: GOOD RECOVERY RATE – 202 patients were discharged today bringing the total to 2,478 or 47.7 per cent of the total cases which stands at 4,987. This includes 170 new cases. The death toll went up by five to 82.
6.07pm: STERN WARNING – Inspector General of Police Tan Sri Abdul Hamid Bador warns MCO may be extended until June if Malaysians continue disobeying the order.
