QSR Brands (M) Holdings Bhd admitted that several of its KFC outlets were experiencing delays in getting their supply of chickens due to the inevitable disruptions to logistics caused by the recent floods over the weekend.
Twentytwo13 earlier today highlighted that several KFC outlets had run out of fried chicken.
Elsewhere, consumers were also greeted by empty shelves at hypermarkets and convenience stores since yesterday, after the floods disrupted the supply chain.
“Due to the devastating and unexpected floods, our operations in the affected states are temporarily disrupted. We’re working closely with local authorities to ensure our operations resume as usual, soon,” QSR Brands said in a statement to Twentytwo13, this evening.
“We apologise to our customers for the inconvenience, and truly appreciate their patience and understanding in this matter. Our hearts go out to all flood victims and those affected by this tragedy.”
Through ‘Add Hope Malaysia’ – KFC’s corporate social responsibility programme – the brand had reached out and distributed meal packs to flood victims in affected areas.
“Efforts are still ongoing to reach other affected locations as well. KFC will continuously stand by Malaysians as we get through these trying times together.”
As of noon, 66,483 people were affected by the floods in seven states – Perak, Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Negeri Sembilan, Melaka, Pahang and Kelantan.
