POST-general election excuse-a-thon and sluggish narratives by disgraced former Malaysian prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak have unleashed a host of ‘U’s:
-
Unprecedented greed; Unjust; Unethical; Unfit; Unprepared; Unbelievably criminal; Uncultured; Ungrateful; Unwilling to learn.
On Monday, Najib lamented scurrilous and unwarranted attacks with his “I gave up power in good way but now not treated well” statement.
Predictably, he got sucked into calamity.
Lawyer Azhar Harun opened his scathing Facebook posting:
“This statement is symptomatic of a man who is delusional, self-centred, narcissistic and quite obviously, a man who does not understand the concept of democracy albeit the fact that he was a prime minister and probably even continues to harbour the thought of becoming one again.”
Let’s agree that Najib and his band of snail-on-Valium Barisan Nasional losers are a shameless lot who lost power through the ballot box. Never had to give up power.
Najib, once impervious to criticism, must still be drunk on Kool-Aid if he thinks a compassionate approach should be taken towards him.
Umno leaders had claimed following the GE14 slaughter that their biggest mistake was not telling Najib the truth and that all were drunk on Kool-Aid.
Kool fact:
“Drinking the Kool-Aid” is an expression commonly used in the United States that in recent years has evolved to mean extreme dedication to a cause, so extreme that one would “Drink the Kool-Aid” and die for the cause.
The phrase derives from the 1978 Jonestown deaths in which over 900 members of the Peoples’ Temple, followers of Jim Jones, committed suicide by drinking a mixture of a powdered soft drink flavouring agent laced with cyanide and other drugs.
Najib’s ouster brought into sharp relief the shocking travesty that so-called Malaysian justice has become in recent years.
Perverting the course of justice is supposed to be a criminal offence. Under Najib it seemed to have become an instrument of public policy.
So, don’t go crying to mama because you are on your own in the real world.
And reflect on this part of the lyrics of the song “Ain’t No Fun” by American rock band Paramore.
If it doesn’t hurt now just wait, just wait a while
You’re not the big fish in the pond no more
You’re what they’re feeding on.
(Chorus)
Ain’t it fun
Living in the real world
Ain’t it good
Being all alone
