Olympic Council of Malaysia (OCM) president Datuk Seri Norza Zakaria is not perturbed by news the association’s secretary-general Datuk Mohd Nazifuddin Najib has to pay RM37.6mil in tax arrears from 2011 and 2017 to the Inland Revenue Board.
The High Court today ordered the son of former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak to pay the amount. Nazifuddin’s lawyer, Muhammad Farhan Muhammad Shafee, said they would appeal the decision.
Norza said: “At the moment, it doesn’t affect OCM as it is a civil action. He is appealing (the decision).”
Nazifuddin defeated incumbent Datuk Low Beng Choo 49-48 in the OCM elections on May 5, 2018. He had previously served as vice-president from 2015-2018.
