Fancy running alongside the Regent of Pahang?
Those participating in the JomRun x KBS Kuantan Fun Run on July 16 will be able to sweat it out with Tengku Hassanal Ibrahim Alam Shah Al-Sultan Abdullah.
Tengku Hassanal, who leads an active lifestyle, has agreed to participate in the 5km fun run. This was confirmed by deputy Youth and Sports Minister, Datuk Seri Ti Lian Ker.
Ti welcomed more people to join in the fun.
The three-day carnival, which begins on July 15, will be held at the Kuantan City Council field. The event is organised by the Youth and Sports Ministry.
Other attractions include a 10km, and 30km fun ride (cycling), eSports, an anime cosplay walk, 3-on-3 basketball, Zumba, and a Muay Thai championship.
Pahang Menteri Besar, Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail, national women’s wushu athlete and 2019-2020 Sportswoman of the Year Tan Cheong Min, rhythmic gymnast Koi Sie Yan, motorsport luminaries Tengku Djan Ley Tengku Mahaleel and Leona Chin, and several other national athletes are also expected to join in the fun.
The carnival aims to educate more people about adopting a healthy lifestyle. It is also to promote unity and patriotism, as well as provide a shot in the arm for the local community, especially traders, to boost their income during the event.
There will be three zones at the carnival – career, health, and marketing.
Youths will be exposed to a wide selection of career opportunities, receive free medical check-ups, and can even purchase sporting equipment, among others, at the very many booths there.
