After being alerted by Twentytwo13, police quickly addressed the MyBayar Saman password glitch that saw registered users being able to log in with random passwords.
A spokesman from Bukit Aman’s public relations office said the police traffic department was “surprised” to learn of the glitch and immediately rectified the situation.
Twentytwo13 tried to log in this time, using the MyKad numbers of registered users and random passwords, but was unable to do so.
Earlier this evening, Twentytwo13 highlighted that those who had registered with the Royal Malaysia Police’s mobile application MyBayar Saman, were caught off guard after finding out that anyone could access their personal details like addresses and phone numbers.
It is believed that the glitch had been around for some three days.
A reader said he managed to check the summons status of five of his family members and friends, without even knowing their passwords.
This news portal verified the claims and immediately alerted Bukit Aman regarding the matter.
Among the details available were the status of the summonses, details of the fines, when and how they were paid, home addresses, and mobile numbers.

COURT TO CONSIDER HYBRID HEARING FOR ROSMAH’S GRAFT TRIAL
Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor’s corruption trial at the Kuala Lumpur High Court, in connection with the solar power project for schools in Sarawak, was postponed today as her MySejahtera status showed that she had close contact with a Covid-19 case.
High Court judge Mohamed Zaini Mazlan said the court would consider proceeding with a hybrid trial after Rosmah’s MySejahtera status had affected the proceedings for a third time.
The suggestion for a hybrid trial was proposed by senior deputy public prosecutor Datuk Seri Gopal Sri Ram.
EARLY VOTING FOR SARAWAK ELECTION STARTS TOMORROW
Early voting for the 12th Sarawak Election will take place tomorrow.
The voting process, involving 10,435 voters, will take place at 85 centres.
Sarawak Deputy Police Commissioner Datuk Mancha Ata said a total of 5,522 policemen will be deployed to ensure that the process is smooth and runs in a systematic manner.
COVID-19 CASES DIP BELOW 4K FOR SECOND CONSECUTIVE DAY
A total of 3,504 new Covid-19 cases were recorded nationwide today.
Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the number brought the nation’s cumulative cases to 2,695,143.
On Sunday, Malaysia recorded 3,490 cases, while a total of 4,626 cases were reported on Saturday.
DIFFICULT TO HAVE SECURITY CONTROLS FOR CRYPTOCURRENCIES
The government said it was difficult to establish security controls for cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin, due to their decentralised nature.
Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Economy) Datuk Eddin Syazlee Shith said the Securities Commission, had in fact, classified cryptocurrencies as ‘securities’ under the law, to provide guidance to investors, so that they understood the risks and types of investments related to cryptocurrencies.
He was replying to a supplementary question from Cha Kee Chin (Pakatan Harapan-Rasah) on the government’s stand on the matter to ensure that the public did not fall victim to scams.
