No single entity alone can address the cybersecurity challenges we face today. The threats are complex, multifaceted, and evolve at a pace that demands collective action.
Digital Minister, Gobind Singh Deo said this is where collaboration between the government and the industry players becomes indispensable.
“The Digital Ministry, and its agencies, have initiated various collaborations in the last 11 months. Our partnerships cut across various industries and sectors, including global tech giants, industry players, and universities. The ultimate goal is to strengthen our digital infrastructure, create cyber resilience, and develop talent,” Gobind said.
“Government agencies like CyberSecurity Malaysia bring crucial technical expertise to the table. They provide services that can ensure that our digital platforms, infrastructure, and applications align with global standards while addressing local needs. On the other hand, industry partners like MyORI Services are at the forefront of technological innovation. They bring agility, creativity, and specialised solutions that can be rapidly adapted to emerging challenges.”
Gobind said this during the signing ceremony of a collaboration agreement between Cybersecurity Malaysia and MyORI Services Sdn Bhd in Cyberjaya yesterday.
MyORI SmartSecure by MyORI Services is a labeling system that has a database of verified products, and offers a scan verification of products through mobile phones. This will benefit manufacturers, distributors, consumers and even enforcement personnel.
“For consumers, this partnership means greater assurance of product authenticity and safety,” said Gobind.
“For businesses, it provides tools to comply with regulatory requirements and enhance their competitiveness. And for the nation, it represents a significant leap forward in creating a secure, transparent, and resilient digital ecosystem.”
He hoped this would inspire other industries and government agencies to pursue similar partnerships, fostering a culture of innovation and mutual support.
“In the context of Malaysia’s aspirations to become a global digital leader, such collaborations are vital. They ensure that our policies and digital technologies evolve hand-in-hand, keeping pace with the demands of a rapidly changing world,” he added.
