Workers caught on video cleaning plates on the road at Raj Banana Leaf Restaurant in Bangsar.

BANANA leaf rice lovers had a rude shock after a video showing workers from Raj Banana Leaf in Bangsar washing metal plates in a puddle of water went viral.

And Kuala Lumpur mayor Tan Sri Mhd Amin Nordin Abdul Aziz says the restaurant will be shut down tomorrow.

Gila punya restaurant (Crazy restaurant). I will instruct my health and environment department officers to seal the premise tomorrow,” said Mhd Amin.

“It will remain closed until they adhere to all of our regulations.”

The video shows three workers squatting in the back alley as they use stagnant water on the road to wash the plates. Another worker was seen overseeing the disgusting act.
