Meet Shah Rukh Khan at USJ1

Well now you can if you head to Marrybrown’s outlet at Giant’s Hypermarket in USJ1, Subang.

The 33-year-old from Faisalabad, Pakistan, said his mother gave him his name long before the Bollywood heartthrob debuted on the silver screen.

“I do get teased at times but it is all good fun,” said Shah Rukh.

“I got my name before SRK became a legend.”

Shah Rukh will be working behind the counter this Hari Raya.

Asked to name his favourite SRK movies, Shah Rukh said they are Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Don and Om Shanti Om.

“I’ve watched nearly all his movies but these are my favourites. My dream is to meet him one day.”

Shah Rukh has been in Malaysia for nearly 14 years and speaks fluent Bahasa Melayu.

“I came to Malaysia after I finished high school to earn a living and quickly picked up the language. It is a matter of survival … plus it was not so difficult.”

Shah Rukh who stays with his mother Zobaida Bibi and sisters Shahneela Tayyab and Sana Tayyab said the family will celebrate Raya at his workplace.

“It’s not ideal but as long as we are together, it will be a joyous occasion.

“My dad is a retiree and still in Pakistan. I visited him last year and it is a pity he is not here with us.”

“I’ve always been a fan of Brazil as they play good football. I hope they can avenge their 2014 defeat by winning in Russia,” said Shah Rukh, who played cricket back home.

His supervisor, Nur Azrina, said she has always been attracted by Spain’s tiki-taka style and predicted they would win their second World Cup despite the last-minute sacking of Julen Lopetegui.

Lopetegui has been named the new Real Madrid coach while Spain’s director of football Fernando Hierro is his replacement.

“I have a feeling La Roja will be too strong for everyone in Russia,” Nur Azrina said.
