Federal Land Development Authority (Felda) chairman, Datuk Seri Ahmad Shabery Cheek, lauded the MARSM AF Wind Orchestra (MAWO) for winning the Golden Diploma Award at the Prague International Festival of Wind Orchestras on June 21.
“This success is more than just a musical feat. It is a symbol of the resilience, spirit, and identity of Felda’s next generation. It demonstrates that with dedication and a shared vision, dreams can become reality,” said Ahmad Shabery.
He gave special mention to the teachers and parents of MRSM Ulul Albab Felda Trolak in Perak, whose dedication and guidance played a crucial role in shaping the musicians’ growth.
“Our heartfelt gratitude goes to all the teachers and parents of MRSM Ulul Albab Felda Trolak – especially Cikgu (teacher) Raja Muzafar Shah Raja Abdullah, the dedicated guiding light who tirelessly poured spirit and guidance into the MAWO children.
“We also remember Datuk Mokhzani Ismail, RTM’s director of music services – a national music figure who has always been a source of inspiration and a highly respected advisor.”
Ahmad Shabery said the support from all parties had been the lifeblood of this success, proving that cross-sector collaboration can create an impact that brings honour to both the nation and Felda on the international stage.
He also thanked Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, who is also the Rural and Regional Development Minister; Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil; and the Department of Broadcasting Malaysia director-general, Datuk Suhaimi Sulaiman, for their close cooperation and continuous support for the endeavour.
Ahmad Shabery also expressed appreciation to Felda’s strategic partners, whose collaboration was vital to the mission’s success. Among them was U Mobile, whose early and steadfast commitment ensured the orchestra’s participation in the festival.
The roles of FGV Holdings Berhad, Sustainable Future Sdn Bhd, Seri Pacific Corporation Sdn Bhd, and other corporate partners were also acknowledged, with Felda praising their invaluable coordination and contributions.
“The orchestra’s performance in Prague stands as a beacon of hope, proving that with passion, perseverance, and the support of a united community, the impossible can indeed become possible,” Ahmad Shabery added.
