While Perikatan Nasional and Pakatan Harapan both claim to have the majority, they can only convince Malaysians by declaring their support publicly. Till then, it’s all a psychological war where, not the Palace, but the average MPs play kingmakers.
Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin may survive the motion of no confidence but will be tested when drawing up Budget 2021 later this year – when unemployment rates are set to soar and economy is depressed because of Covid-19.
