Jom Jalan with NPC is back!
This event, jointly organised by the National Press Club Malaysia (NPC) and the Federal Territory Kuala Lumpur Athletics Association (FTKLAA), will see its second edition held on May 24 at Padang Merbok, Kuala Lumpur.
There are two main categories – a competitive 10km walk and a 5km fun walk.
The competitive 10km walk will have several sub-categories – Open Men’s, Open Women’s, Boys’ and Girls’ (aged 13-17), and a Veterans’ Category (aged 40 and above). The fun walk, meanwhile, is open to all.
The objectives of the walk are to promote a walking lifestyle among the masses while unearthing new talents, especially among young walkers.
NPC president Datuk Ahirudin Attan urged media practitioners in the country to join in the fun.
“I would like to invite journalists to walk with us. This is a platform that will allow us to display our solidarity in the industry,” said Ahirudin.
He added ‘Jom Jalan with NPC 2025’ can help unite Malaysians.
“We need to walk together as a nation. It is at such events that we all come together to achieve several goals – to promote a healthy and active lifestyle through walking and to remind us that we, Malaysians, are one big happy family,” he added.
The inaugural edition held last year drew a good mix of over 300 participants.
