eSports boot camp? Yes, we have it in Malaysia

Malaysian eSports agency Cyclestate has launched its grassroots development initiative with a pioneering concept of online gaming boot camps for children aged 10 to 17.

In an exclusive partnership with ibMedia, a unique curriculum was developed to deliver ESLGaming-certified training camps to children in the comfort of their homes.

The partnership has received the thumbs up from Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation’s (MDEC).

“We welcome the partnership between Cyclestate and ibMedia,” said Hasnul Hadi Samsudin, vice-president, Digital Creative Content, MDEC.

“It is a great way to accelerate the aspirations and dreams of Malaysian youths who have a keen interest in eSports and dreams of going professional one day.

“This will open doors for other initiatives that have plans to venture into this space.”

He added MDEC looks forward to what Cyclestate and ibMedia have in mind for the coming months.

“This further extends Malaysia as a growing community for eSports in the region and also reinforces ongoing efforts to solidify Malaysia as the Heart of Digital Asean.”

Cyclestate and ibMedia’s partnership has resulted in the development of a five-level training camp programme resulting in a certificate from ESL, the world’s largest and longest-running eSports company.

Every level can be completed over eight hours in a single weekend.

Cyclestate partner and chief operating officer Alfred Juan Anthony said the company recognises the importance of grassroots development.

“This partnership with ibMedia enables us to deliver cutting-edge content incorporated with soft-skills training delivered online into the homes of children all across Malaysia,” said Anthony.

“The innovation we are delivering is in the fusion of gameplay training, physical well-being coaching and values-based personal development that will allow our children to excel in this industry.”

For the record, ibMedia is the latest player in the eSports landscape to venture into Malaysia.

Headquartered in Singapore and Berlin, ibMedia Group and Cyclestate will provide eSports solutions and strategies tailored for the Malaysian market, ranging from Esports workshops to full-time courses.
