The much-anticipated ‘Jom Jalan with NPC 2025’, organised by the National Press Club Malaysia (NPC) and sanctioned by the Federal Territory Kuala Lumpur Athletics Association (FTKLAA), was initially set to take place on May 24, 2025 at Padang Merbok, Kuala Lumpur.
It will now be held later this year.
Additional details regarding the rescheduled event, including registration information and logistics, will be shared on the NPC website.
NPC president Datuk Ahirudin Attan said the decision to postpone the event was not taken lightly.
“We are extremely disappointed, but the postponement is to ensure the best experience for all participants,” said Ahirudin.
“We are working to finalise the new date and will update our supporters as soon as it’s confirmed. We regret any inconvenience this may cause our participants and sponsors.
“In the meantime, we appreciate your understanding and continued enthusiasm.”
Ahirudin hopes to see 1,000 participants at ‘Jom Jalan with NPC 2025’.
Those who have registered for the event will receive their refunds from the respective online registration platforms.
‘Jom Jalan with NPC’ is divided into two categories – a 10km competitive race walk with several sub-categories, and a 5km fun walk.
The categories for the competitive 10km walk are Open Men’s, Open Women’s, Boys’ and Girls’ (aged 13-17), and a Veterans’ Category (aged 40 and above). The fun walk is open to all.
As there has been a lack of race-walking events and champions in recent years, it is hoped
that ‘Jom Jalan with NPC’ will become a platform to spot future champions.
