After an absence of seven years, the National Press Club (NPC) Malaysia Golf Tournament returns on Nov 26 at Tropicana Golf and Country Resort.

Giving the event a royal touch will be the Sultan of Pahang, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, and the Tengku Ampuan of Pahang, Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah.

This will be the first time a royal couple will take part in an event organised by the NPC. In previous NPC golf events, the guest of honour was either the prime minister or deputy prime minister.

“In past years, NPC held the golf event annually,” said NPC president, Datuk Ahirudin Attan.

“Unfortunately, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we had to put this on hold. With the pandemic now behind us, we have revived the tournament.

“We hope to include in our list of 120 participants, cabinet ministers, foreign dignitaries, captains of industry, senior editors past and present, journalists, and other professionals.”

Ahirudin said the golf event aims to strengthen the relationship between the NPC and the government, corporate sector, and the media.

The tournament will have three categories – Men, Ladies, and Seniors.

The Senior category is for golfers aged 65 and above. There will be lucky draw prizes, and each participant will receive a goodie bag.

Registration forms are now available at the NPC clubhouse at 84, Jalan Tangsi, Off Jalan Parlimen, or by calling 012-632 0061. Entry fee is RM450 for NPC members, and RM600 for non-members.
