Sport Integrity Week 2022 (SIW2022) begins today, gathering over 170 high-profile industry leaders from some of the world’s biggest brands and organisations to discuss sport integrity.
The hybrid event, with physical sessions to be held at Nova School of Business and Economics in Cascais, Portugal, ends on Sept 16.
UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin, former French national footballer Louis Saha, MotoGP racer Miguel Oliveira, United Nations’ (UN) assistant secretary-general Maria Francesca Spatolisano, European Parliament member Tomasz Frankowski, and Microsoft chief marketing officer and general manager Sandra Lopez are among those who will feature in the event.
Twentytwo13’s co-founder and editor, Haresh Deol will be part of the Global Media Partners Network session on Sept 15 (9pm Malaysia time).
Haresh will be joined by Association of Sports Journalists president Manuel Queiroz, AS USA director David Nelson, Inside World Football chief executive officer and editor-in-chief Paul Nicholson, TV Globo’s sports content director Renato Ribeiro, and Portuguese Journalists’ Union president Luís Filipe Simões.
The session will be moderated by O Jogo journalist and immediate past director José Manuel Ribeiro.
SIW2022 is also set to witness the signing of several agreements between SIGA and the UN, the Portuguese Professional Football League, the Danish Football League, and Eurovision Sport.
Capping an extensive consultation process involving leading experts and key organisations in the field, the SIGA Universal Standards on Youth Development and Protection in Sport will be launched tomorrow.
SIW2022 will also host a series of other significant thought leadership events, including the launch of the SIGA GRID (gender, race, inclusion and diversity) Awards, and the signing of a sport integrity pact.
Headquartered in Geneva, SIGA is supported by major international industries from diverse sectors and aims to bring together key stakeholders – athletes, sports associations, governments, international organisations, global businesses and civil societies worldwide, to uphold integrity in sports.
Twentytwo13 is SIGA’s permanent media partner.
