Sport Integrity Global Alliance (SIGA), the world’s leading independent coalition in the field of sport integrity, is organising its third annual Summit on Female Leadership in Sport, in New York City.
The March 7 event will be hosted by SIGA founding member, Mastercard, at its Tech Hub in Manhattan.
In an effort to foster gender equity and empower women’s participation in sports, the SIGA Summit on Female Leadership in Sport will connect multi-industry high-level leaders, both in person and digitally, to share knowledge and expertise on the most pressing topics and challenges facing sports.
This includes good governance, female leadership in action, athlete activism, sponsorship, technology, mentorship, and male allies, among many others.
Building on the success of the 2021 and the 2022 editions, the #SIGAWomen Summit on Female Leadership in Sport will be open to everyone.
Participation in the webinars is free after registering for a Virtual Online Pass. A limited number of in-person passes will soon be available at an early bird rate.
Commenting upon the announcement of the third summit, SIGA global chief operating officer and #SIGAWomen programme director, Katie Simmonds said: “The SIGA Summit on Female Leadership in Sport is not just an event – it is an integral part of the #SIGAWomen Programme, designed to create more pathways for female leaders in sports.
“This is good governance. And good governance is good for business.”
She added that the ultimate cultural change SIGA is pushing for is gender parity on the board of sports organisations.
“It is possible. Last year, SIGA amended its constitution to enshrine gender equity in its council. If you are a female leader in the industry, step forward and join our effort to leave a legacy for the next generation of aspiring female leaders. Likewise, if you are a male leader, join us as allies.”
