KUALA LUMPUR: Talent Corporation Malaysia Berhad (TalentCorp) has terminated the services of two senior vice-presidents, while two members of its board of directors were removed today.
The latest developments follow a Twentytwo13 report on Oct 13 that three senior leadership team members had received show-cause letters and reprimands amid leadership tensions and proposed changes to the company’s senior management. Human Resources Minister Datuk Seri R. Ramanan had previously confirmed to Twentytwo13 that an investigation was underway.
The two senior vice-presidents told Twentytwo13 today that their employment had been terminated on Oct 2 and that they were considering their next course of action.
“I can confirm that I am one of the officers affected. I am currently seeking advice and weighing my options,” said one of the executives, who requested anonymity.
The other executive, who also requested anonymity, said he was aggrieved by the way the matter had been handled.
“What hurts most is how it all unfolded. After nine years of dedication and serving in a senior leadership role, I was abruptly terminated,” he told Twentytwo13.
“I never imagined nine years of commitment would end this way, without even being given the opportunity to respond.”
The terminations followed a disciplinary inquiry amid proposed changes to the senior management team under group chief executive officer Biruntha Mooruthi.
TalentCorp plays a role in attracting and retaining skilled talent, developing Malaysia’s workforce and addressing skills gaps to support the country’s economic growth.
Meanwhile, one of the two board members removed today told Twentytwo13 that he did not know why he had been removed.
“I did not attend the meeting today but I received a Whatsapp from the company secretary stating that I have been removed. I do not know the reason,” he said, requesting anonymity.
Biruntha was appointed on April 15, 2026, replacing Edward Ling, who stepped down barely five months after assuming the role on Nov 4, 2025. Her appointment came amid leadership changes in the ministry, with Ramanan replacing former minister Steven Sim on Dec 17, 2025.
Insiders had previously told Twentytwo13 that Biruntha wanted to make changes to the organisation and its senior leadership team. However, they questioned the basis for disciplinary action against senior managers who had previously been responsible for major areas of the company’s operations.
The insiders said they believed the executives had faced increased scrutiny after questioning or challenging some of Biruntha’s decisions.
TalentCorp had previously declined to comment when approached by Twentytwo13, citing confidentiality and internal procedures.
