Have fun and help make a difference

Seeths Nair

Deepavali is around the corner. As with any festival, Malaysians will be looking forward to the glorious food and meeting up with friends and relatives at open houses.

But not everyone is fortunate enough to partake in these moments, not even on an ordinary day.

That’s where Samaritans like Seetha Rajalingam better known as Seeths come in and make a difference for others.

This time, this voluntary social worker is determined to make it a joyous Deepavali for 18 children from Siddharthan Children’s Home in Petaling Jaya, Selangor.

Seeths is organising a fundraiser on Sunday, Oct 20 at Thirsty Bar in 3 Two Square, Petaling Jaya.

Fight for Change 2019

Several one and two-piece outfits will entertain guests at the event which starts at noon.

Seeths, who has rescued several stray dogs over the years, was humble about the effort and heaped praise on the sponsors – venue host Thirsty Bar, Liverpool supporters’ club KL Kopites, Carlsberg, Drinks Connexion and lawyer Sreekanth Pillai who will take the children for rides in a VW Beetle. Conceptual Events & Advertising is the event partner while Twentytwo13 is the media partner.

“I know what it feels like not to have anything. I do what I can and I could not have done it without my friends. They are my magic,” she said.

All proceeds from the event will be handed to the home. For details, contact  017-3831322.
