The Youth and Sports Ministry announced today that AirAsia’s group chief executive officer Tan Sri Tony Fernandes has been named Malaysia Stadium Corporation (PSM) chairman.
According to a statement by the ministry, Tony is tasked to improve PSM’s operations and its finances as it currently has losses of RM11 million.
We welcome him in true Twentytwo13 fashion.
Now everyone can watch football
Ticket prices will be cheaper by 4 per cent. Spectators who want a seat will have to pay an additional RM5 for wooden seat, RM10 for cushioned seat and RM15 for cushioned seat with armrest.
If you want to wave the national flag, it will cost RM1.50 for the tiny hand-held one. Any flag bigger than that will incur an additional charge of RM3.65. If you want to wave any other flag, the standard charge is RM11.25.
Bottled drinking water will be sold at a competitive price of RM9.85. You get a free vadai with it.
If you want to go to the toilet during the game, a charge of 65 sen will be imposed to get a sticker for your seat. Otherwise, you might lose your seat. Entrance to the toilet is RM1.05. Toilet paper is 80 sen or a mere 40 sen if you just want to do your number one.
All the above are not inclusive of the sales and services tax (SST).
Jokes aside Tony, we hope you will help turn PSM into a self-sustainable entity and ensure sporting venues are accessible to all.
All the best!
