Jihin Radzuan ready for Zamboanga challenge

Jihin Radzuan

Jihin ‘Shadowcat’ Radzuan is determined to end the year on a high when she faces Denice ‘The Menace Fairtex’ Zamboanga at ONE: Mark of Greatness at Axiata Arena in Kuala Lumpur on Friday.

The Johor lass, who holds a 5-1 record, is unbeaten on home soil and wants to continue her streak against Zamboanga, who makes her ONE debut.

The Filipina has a 2-0 mixed martial arts record and is touted as someone who can challenge for the world title one day.

While admitting it will be one of her toughest fights, Jihin is unperturbed about facing Zamboanga.

“I’m happy with the choice,” Jihin said.

“She is quite a decent fighter and I have no issues going up against someone like her. It will be an even match. She is undefeated, while I am protecting my 5-1 record.”

After a razor-thin decision loss to Gina Iniong and a submission win over Jomary Torres earlier this year, Jihin will face her third Filipina opponent.

Jihin says Zamboanga is a grappler who is also a good striker.

Zamboanga’s two victories have come via finishes and as such, Jihin has to be on her toes.

“I believe we will bring out the best IN each other.”

“We are both young, skilful and are aiming for something in our careers. Fans definitely would not want to miss our bout.”

In the main event, Muay Thai world champion Sam-A Gaiyanghadao looks to capture his second ONE world title as he takes on Chinese kickboxing world champion Wang Junguang for the inaugural ONE Strawweight Kickboxing World Championship.

In addition, Alaverdi Ramazanov and Zhang Chenglong will battle to become the first ONE Bantamweight Kickboxing world champion.
